How to Order/ FAQ

Rebecca's Cakes / How to Order/ FAQ

HOW TO ORDER

How much notice do you need? As much as possible, I usually find that I am booked up around three months in advance. All bookings are heavily dependent on availability as I am one person, with a large amount of bookings. I do my best to accommodate as many orders as I possibly can.

Placing your order To place your order please email us at rebeccascakes@hotmail.co.uk with the information requested below.

If you would prefer to call my number is 07813282587. Due to my busy baking schedule I am not always able to answer the phone straight away. For a quick or urgent response please email! Please note that even if we speak by phone, I will also need to confirm the order in writing by email, so it is always helpful to begin an enquiry via email if possible.

When you contact me please give me as much information as possible. The following information is very helpful in ensuring your enquiry is dealt with efficiently:

1) What you would like to order, including sizing/portions needed, flavour, decoration and any special requirements.
2) What date you would like your order for.

How to Pay

All orders must be paid for in full before baked – NO EXCEPTIONS!

I can accept Bank Transfer (preffered method of payment)

I prefer not to take cash or cheque payments, but will if this is the only option for you (terms apply)

*I DO NOT have the facilities to take any card payments*

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?
My name is Rebecca, I am the owner of Rebecca’s Cakes. Each cake is made completely from scratch, by me, in my insured and health authority registered kitchen. I have 20 years experience in the food industry and am a qualified Chef by trade. To see how Rebecca’s Cakes started check out the ‘About Us

Where are you based?
Rebecca’s Cakes is run from a private home in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire (EN8).

Do you have a shop where I can come and buy cakes?
No, sorry! As home based business each and every cake is made to order. I sometimes have extra cupcakes and brownies available for next day collection – please ask.

Do you offer delivery or can I collect from you?
I can offer delivery and set up on Wedding Cakes and Catering Jobs. Please get in touch for a quote. All other orders are for collection only. Please note that all deliveries are subject to availability!

How much notice do I need to give to place an order?
The minimum amount of notice I recommend is one month.

If you have not given a months notice then it is less likely that we will be able to fill your order but please feel free to ask and we will try to help when possible.

I recommend giving as much notice as possible as I often get booked up 12 or more weeks in advance.

During Wedding Season and at weekends we get booked up very quickly so bookings are heavily dependent on availability.

You can place your order as far in advance as you wish.

How do I place an order?
Please see the How To Order page!

Is there a minimum order?
In money terms, no. But some products, such as cupcakes can only been ordered in set minimum quantities.

I have an idea of something I want you to make – will you do it?
Please get in touch and I would be happy to discuss your requirements.

How long will your cakes keep?
All cakes are best enjoyed within 2-3 Days. After this time they will still be perfectly edible, but I would advise freezing them in small portions to be able to enjoy them for longer.

Can your cakes be frozen?
Most can, Yes! Ask for advice on how best to freeze when ordering.

Do you bake cakes for free from and restricted diets?
Yes! Dairy Free, Egg Free, Vegan, Soya Free, Gluten Free and Wheat Free. I am very experienced in dealing with all major free from diets and allergies.

AND….these are not just run of the mill, simple cakes – I can bake sparkly, fun, ‘normal’ tasting and great looking cakes for everyday or that special occasion!

All of my cakes are baked in the same kitchen and although I strive do all  that I can to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, I cannot 100% guarantee this. My cakes are not suitable for those with very severe allergies.

Are your cakes suitable for nut allergy sufferers?
I use nuts in my kitchen so although I can exclude them from a recipe, I cannot guarantee anything to be nut free.

Are your cakes suitable for vegetarians?
All of my cakes are suitable for vegetarians, but I will use gelatine based marshmallows unless vegetarian ones are specifically requested. Please do let me know if you require your cake to be vegetarian at the time of order. All of our food colorings are vegetarian, including the red!

Do you hire cake stands?
We hire 8 tier acrylic cupcake stands for £35, plus a £50 security deposit. I also have a range of glass and china vintage stands for hire which are priced on application. Cake stands can only be hired as part of an order.
